CSL First City Teaching Chapter is a Center for Spiritual Living in St. Augustine, Florida. It is a spiritual community rooted in the Science of Mind teachings of Ernest Holmes, offering classes, meditation, pastoral care, grief support and a home for 12-step recovery meetings.

Science of Mind is a spiritual philosophy founded by Ernest Holmes in the early twentieth century. It teaches that there is one Divine Intelligence, that each person is a unique expression of that Spirit, and that we can change our experience by changing our thinking. It honors wisdom from many faiths.
CSL First City is a non-denominational spiritual community. We honor the truth found in all faiths and welcome people of any religion, or none. We call the Divine by many names, including God, Spirit and Higher Power.
Yes. CSL First City is a certified STA Safe partner with House of Prism, welcoming LGBTQIA+ people without fear of discrimination.
Every Monday at 7:15 PM we light candles, speak our intentions, draw guidance cards, and then enter a guided or music meditation with healing sound bowls. It is offered by love offering.
A love offering is a freewill donation. You give whatever feels right to you, and no one is turned away for being unable to give.
Alcoholics Anonymous, Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACA), Co-Dependents Anonymous (CoDA), Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA), Overeaters Anonymous (OA) and Marijuana Anonymous (MA) groups meet at 93D Orange St. Each group is independent and is not affiliated with CSL First City.
Yes. Rev. Sherri Cunningham offers confidential pastoral care to individuals and families across the St. Augustine community, in person or by phone or video. Services are offered on a love-offering or sliding-scale basis.

No. We listen to the audiobook together and read along, so you can simply show up. Many people bring their own copy once they decide to keep coming.
No. The study is open to everyone, whether you are new to Science of Mind or a longtime student.
A sound bath is a meditation in which you rest while singing bowls and other instruments create layered, resonant tones. Most people sit or lie comfortably and simply listen.
Just yourself. Wear comfortable clothes. You are welcome to bring a cushion, blanket or water.
